Black Mold
As you can see, there was a LOT of black mold thriving throughout the basement.

Needs to Be Removed
Since the structural integrity of the sheetrock was compromised, the only solution was to remove those sections of wall that were completely damaged. In these situations, it is critical to carefully remove the materials so the mold spores are not dislodged and reattach elsewhere. Unlike asbestos, which is a dead mineral, mold is a living, breathing fungus that multiplies and will continue to spread if the conditions are conducive to mold growth.

MAPS 1 Comes First
Once everything was removed and disposed of properly, we treated the basement with an EPA registered antimicrobial solution called MAPS 1. MAPS 1 attacks mold on a cellular level and instantly eliminates it.

Encapsulates the Surface
Next, we applied our mold stain remover and scrubbed any and all mold stains throughout the basement. After that, we applied MAPS 2. MAPS 2 is a patented sealant that encapsulates the surface mold is growing on and renders it harmless and non-allergenic. It's also moisture sensitive and will reactivate whenever it gets wet to prevent any future mold growth.

Commercial Grade Sedona Dehumidifier.
Finally, to control the humidity levels, we installed a Sedona dehumidifier. This dehumidifier can effectively cover indoor living spaces over 3000 square feet, making it well-suited for basements and crawl spaces over 40" high!
