Mold on the Joists
We spotted mold throughout the joists in the crawl space. There was certainly a humidity issue in the crawl space which was the conducive condition that caused the mold growth.
Remediate the Mold
We informed the homeowner who already knew about the humidity issue and purchased a commercial-grade dehumidifier to fix the problem, so we began our remediation process!
HEPA Vac & MAPS 1
First, we HEPA vacuumed all the mold and then applied our antimicrobial solution called MAPS 1. This solution attacks mold at a DNA level and kills it instantly.
Scrubbed it Away & then MAPS 2
We then scrubbed away all the mold growth and then applied a patented sealant called MAPS 2. This encapsulates the surface that the mold is growing on and renders it harmless and non-allergenic. MAPS 2 is also moisture-sensitive and reactivates when it gets wet to prevent any future mold growth. Once the dehumidifier is installed, mold will no longer develop in the crawl space.
