Easy to Find
Beginning our inspection we immediately found the mold growth in the basement. The reason the mold developed on the ceiling was due to a huge fish tank that leaked down into the basement.
Too Late
Unfortunately, the homeowner had no idea that the fish tank was leaking until it was too late.
Remove the Damaged Ceiling
Due to the extreme amount of moisture in the ceiling drywall we were left no choice but to remove the damaged ceiling. Before beginning removing the drywall, we mentioned what had to be done to the homeowner. He agreed and informed us that he will hire a contractor to replace the drywall in the basement.
MAPS 1& 2
After removing all of the contaminated drywall we treated the entire basement with Maps 1, which is an antimicrobial solution that targets and kills mold on a DNA level. Once it dried we applied our patented sealant called MAPS 2. MAPS 2 encapsulates the mold, rendering it harmless, and reactivates once it gets wet to prevent against future mold growth.
Control the Humidity
Then, to control the humidity levels in the basement, we installed a Sedona dehumidifier. This will keep the humidity levels in the basement at an appropriate, safe, and comfortable level.
