Mold Building Up in the Crawl Space in Freehold, NJ

Challenge

As this homeowner in Freehold, NJ was cleaning out his crawl space, he noticed a large amount of mold growth all along the joists. Since he had used our Pest Control services before in the past, he called our office and we were sent out. Turns out that the humidity levels in the crawl space were extremely high, which contributed to the mold growth.

Solution

First, we removed all the contaminated items in the crawl space and disposed of them. Afterward, we treated the entire crawl space with our EPA antimicrobial, MAPS 1. MAPS stands for Mold Abatement Polymer Solutions and this solution attacks mold at its DNA and kills it immediately. Once that was completed, we applied our mold stain remover and scrubbed away all the mold stains. Next, we applied MAPS 2.

MAPS 2 is our patented sealant that encapsulates the surface mold is growing on and renders it harmless, inert, and non-allergic. MAPS 2 is also moisture sensitive and will reactivate whenever it gets wet to prevent any future mold growth. Lastly, to control the high humidity levels in the basement, we installed a Sani-Dry Sedona commercial grade dehumidifier. These dehumidifiers cost less to run than other dehumidifiers, cover over 3000 square feet, and are energy efficient.
