Mold Complicates Sale of a Home in Asbury Park, NJ

Before this family could sell their home in Asbury Park, NJ, they first needed to address the massive mold growth in their attic. The conducive condition that caused the mold growth was the lack of ventilation in the attic. Although the homeowners installed several new attic fans, it was too late and mold had grown on every square inch in the attic. So the homeowners called our office to get rid of the mold.

After equipping our personal protective equipment (PPE) we treated the mold directly with an antimicrobial solution called Mold Abatement Polymer Solutions 1 (or MAPS 1 for short). MAPS 1 is an EPA registered product that attacks mold at its DNA and kills it immediately. After treating the entire attic with MAPS 1, we used our mold stain remover and began scrubbing away all the mold growth throughout the attic.

Now that the mold has been killed and all the stains are removed, we then applied our patented sealant called MAPS 2. MAPS 2 is a moisture-sensitive application that encapsulates the surface mold is growing on and renders it harmless, inert, and non-allergenic. One of the best features of MAPS 2 is that it will reactivate whenever it gets wet to prevent future mold growth, meaning that there will be no more mold growth in the attic for the current and future homeowners!
